Baking always gets me in a good mood and tarts are one of my ultimate go-to items. Tarts seem a lot more difficult and time intensive than they actually are, but between you and me tarts can be one of the most simple desserts when you are short on time and want something that is sure to impress. You must give this recipe a try if you are a fan of lemon tarts or bars as this is an elevated twist on a citrus tart that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
This recipe features my tried and true tart crust (with a little variation) and a homemade grapefruit curd that is then baked to perfection. The grapefruit citrus notes are complimented by a luscious dark chocolate layer featuring Madecasse chocolate, that separates the crust from the grapefruit filling. This is definitely a treat for special occasions or a cheat day, but uses all organic ingredients (the only exception being the vanilla extract and sea salt) to create a delightful dessert you can feel better about eating (no additives or artificial ingredients here!)
Get to baking and let me know what you think or if you have any questions! XO SAV
